Running of the Wiener Dogs - Dachshund Races

We are excited to again host the annual "Running of the Wieners"!
Dachshunds only are allowed and encouraged to compete! Race starts at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7th at Opera House Square in downtown Oshkosh. Registration will be on-site, starting at 9:00 a.m. The downtown Farmers Market is on Main Street, but please note - dogs are not allowed inside the Farmer's Market. There is no cost to enter you wiener dog in the races, but donations will be accepted for the Oshkosh Area Humane Society!

Oshkosh Oktoberfest Olympics

At Oktoberfest, you will have an opportunity to compete in our annual Oshkosh Oktoberfest Olympics. There are several fun and competitive games, including our Barrel Rolling content, Masskrugstemmen (Beer Stein Holding) contest and Stein Relay races. There will even be a Frankfurter Eating contest and a soft pretzel eating contest. All for great fun and a chance to win some great prizes. Children contests (come in costume) will be held at Opera House Square following the Running of the Wieners, and Adult contests will be held at either Barley & Hops or Fletch's Local Tap House - see schedule below.

Oktoberfest 2K Bier Run and Costume Contest

Oshkosh Oktoberfest 2K will be a beer walk/run on North Main Street, utilizing the sidewalks and biergartens. Two laps around, for a total of 2 kilometers or 1.25 miles. This is Not a Race. We encourage everyone to dress in costume (preferably German). Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes, in both individual and group categories. All participants MUST be over 21 and have proper identification showing proof of age. Each person will receive four complimentary 12 oz. beers and our Oktoberfest shirt (while supplies last - so register early!). Entrance fee is only $20. The Oktoberfest 2K Bier Run starts at 4:00 p.m. (Registration beginning at 2:30 p.m.) at Barley & Hops Tavern (663 N. Main St.) Saturday, October 7th. To guarantee a shirt, Please Register in advance online or at our hosts: Barley & Hops and Fletch's Local Tap House.

Barley & Hops Beer Sampling

Following our Bier Run and Costume Contest, everyone is encouraged to join the Barley & Hops Beer Sampling starting at 7 p.m., with more than 40 different brews to sample. Advance ticket required. If participating in the 2K Bier Run, you can purchase a discounted ticket for $20.
